    Hi. Recently, I have been advised to downsize my paintings to miniature versions so that they are made more affordable to collectors and they are good for house decor in corners.   • Trusts 38th Art Exhibition

    It was an honour for me to participate in the Trusts 38th Art Exhibition at Corban Arts Centre under Waitakere Arts, Auckland. I painted, An Evening in Moire Park and I am very happy with the outcome. Love this piece. It has depth and the 3D effect. My focus is on the main tree trunk.

  • Colors of Life

    Joanne Lau’s painting, “Colours of Life”,was hung at the Quay Versace apartment on Thomas Street, Sydney, on 9 February 2025. This painting captures the journey of a life shaped by achievement and evolution. Red signifies drive and empathy. Yellow and gold represent prosperity and generosity. Royal blue, black, and gold together evoke sophistication and authority. The trinity strands of the border, featuring smiley faces, symbolise three key personal relationships—two following continuous paths and one ending abruptly—all guided by the light of the sun.

    New Zealand is a country of nature, blue skies, clear water, sandy beaches and beautiful parks. My evening walks in the parks have made an impact on my artistic journey. This is my new series called, ‘Trees in the Parks’ (T.i.P) which is a sequel to my Fantasy Tree series that was exhibited in my solo show, Colourful Echoes.   • Merry Christmas to you all! I will return be back in 2025

    Franklin Road lights up for Christmas and so does my tree here. Allow me to introduce my last painting in 2024 entitled ‘A Time of Good Cheer’. Every year, Franklin Road in Auckland attracts throngs of visitors in the month of December, in the run up to Christmas. All the houses in the road are dressed in myriad lights, from 7-10pm each night. It is a wonder world of lights, a Disneyland and a marvel to the eye!!! ‘ A Time of Good Cheer’ is an inspiration from the Christmas Franklin Road.
