The Success of Colourful Echoes
It is with much joy that the Almighty has blessed me with a very successful solo art show which further enhanced my 70th birthday celebration. The original objective of the show was achieved as the target portion of the proceeds was donated to 5 different NGOs , namely the new church of Chapel of Mother Mary, Sarawak Women for Women Society, the Carmelite Monastery, St Peter’s new church and Sarawak Artists Society.
Much appreciation goes to Chen Li Li who was the organizer and motivator working behind the scene. Appreciation goes to Hoan’s Gallery too for the extensive media promotion and coverage and for the premium set-up at the gallery. Thanks to the feature writer, Vicky Fong who believed in me and gave me a leg up in the Sarawak art arena with her well- received article, Never too late to bloom.
Ultimately, I thank all the loyal collectors from Malaysia and abroad. You made it good for me.

Colourful Echoes is about the visual and audio experiences in Joanne’s life which many can relate to. The bright cheerful colours are the happy good moments and the dark blue is the downtime. Together, they enrich one’s life through the grinding and refining process, ultimately leaving one stronger and more resilient than ever. Gaze at the painting and transport oneself back to reflect on one’s own journey of life.
Featured under the theme is Joanne's NFT set, Journey of Life which is very dear to her heart.
Nature is the focal of Joanne's artworks so one of her fondest creations is her rainforest series, X,Y, Z.
Finally, there is a section of work produced in New Zealand. Those pieces reflect Joanne's personal feelings about her relocation to this beautiful land of milk and honey and the interpretations of her new life there.
